St. Augustine Field Trip

When?

  • Trip is 1/24-1/26
  • Registration deadline and payment deadline is 11/30.  


Where?

  • Kennedy Space Center & St. Augustine


How much?

  • $1000 per person payable via Zelle to Marylynne@classAtravel.com
  • Field trips require a 20 person minimum or money in full will be returned. 
  • Price includes $100 non-refundable fee for trip insurance.  
    • Trip insurance covers last minute emergency reasons you cannot go on the trip (such as illness with a doctor’s note) and will reimburse you $900 in those situations.  It does not cover any other out of pocket expenses related to the trip.  


Who?

  • Trips are open to Alexander 4th graders and their parents/chaperones. Younger or older siblings are not allowed.  
  • All children must go with a chaperone - but you can team up with another parent to chaperone your kid.  Maximum 3 kids to one parent ratio since there must be an adult in every room.


Itinerary

Friday, 1/24, Day 1:

  • 5:00 am: Leave for Kennedy Space Center 
  • Bagels en route
  • 9:00am - Kennedy Space Center 
  • Lunch on own in food court
  • 4pm: Depart for St. Augustine
  • 6pm: Dinner at hotel
  • Check in at Marriott World Golf Village


Saturday, 1/25, Day 2:

  • 8:00-9:15: Drop into the hotel restaurant for breakfast (price included) 
  • 9:15am: Leave hotel
  • 10:00am: Old Town Trolley Tour
  • 11:00am: Chik Fin A lunch at visitor’s center then walk to Pirate and Treasure Museum
  • 12:00pm: Tour at Pirate and Treasure Museum then walk to spanish military museum
  • 1:30pm: Tour of Old Spanish Military Hospital then bus to Old Jail Property
  • 2:45pm: Tour of Old Jail then walk to fountain of youth
  • 4:00pm: Explore Fountain of Youth
  • 5:30pm-7:30pm: Dinner on own in town then explore St. George Street
  • 8pm: Return to hotel


Sunday, 1/26, Day 3: 

  • 7-8:15am: Drop into the hotel restaurant for breakfast (price included) 
  • 8:15am: Leave hotel
  • 9am: Castillo de San Marcos fort tour then bus to Lightner Museum.  
  • 10:30am: Guided Tour of Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse
  • Pizza Lunch
  • 1:00pm: Fort Menendez at the Old Florida Museum  Spanish Program and then Native American Program. 
  • 2-7pm: Drive to Alexander. Snacks on bus.
  • 7pm: Arrive at Alexander Montessori
